What Is Man
The current phenomenon in vogue for society is simply to sow as much confusion as is possible, without completely destroying the physical apparatus of civilization.
The established elites of our modern world don’t want civilization to be cratered back into another stone age but, at the same time, the progressivist, secular mind is obsessed with the notion of stamping out the idea of God from our collective mind.
In Saint John’s gospel, Jesus tells his disciples in the upper room, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.”
These words echoed across millennia so that all those who would serve the world, rather than God, would know how they must act in order to rebel against their creator. They must despise truth.
A simple judicial hearing in the U.S. Senate highlights the absurdity of today’s society when someone nominated to the highest court in the United States can’t even answer the simple question, “Can you provide a definition for the word, ‘woman?’”
The fact that a highly educated woman couldn’t answer such a basic question, and could still be approved to the Supreme Court, demonstrates how ridiculous, conniving, and malicious the ruling class has become in regards to everyday people, as well as truth, both in the form of Christ, as well as basic provable reality.
The important thing to consider, however, is not the lunacy of so-called progressives. Their utter contempt for God, demonstrates that the natural conclusion for rejecting Jesus is to devolve into jesters worthy of mockery.
That sad outcome, however, presents a dangerous trap for those who desire to serve God. So, right now, it is better to ask, “What is man?”
It is admittedly humorous to poke fun and laugh at such absurdity - conservative commentators have become adept at mocking “The Left’ and they have built up a large audience of like-minded individuals as a result.
Unfortunately, in the pursuit of serving Truth, many Christians have forgotten to also follow, “The Way.”
Is is overly simplistic to take any one action Jesus engaged in to prove a self-serving goal. Many Christian conservatives will cite Jesus flipping tables over in the Temple to chase out the money lenders, in order to justify mocking and aggressively trolling The Left.
This act of aggressive justice by Jesus is not a common scenario and you have to break down the context in order to derive the true meaning. God would eventually destroy the Temple - it was God’s house on Earth, so he had the right to do so. However, the Temple in Jerusalem in the time of Christ was still a Holy place deserving of ultimate respect. It was only in response to ultimate desecration that Our Lord reacted with that much aggression.
It is difficult nowadays to know all the acts that could be considered a sacrilege so great, that chasing the offender with a whip would be justified, but it is always better to follow Christ’s other examples by simply teaching the truth with humility and respect.
That does not mean that we cannot feel righteous anger over a large myriad of offenses that progressives perpetrate. In fact, it would not be Christian to passively ignore such blatant disrespect of truth.
How we respond is the key and it requires patience and fortitude to be able to face the gale buffeting you without spitting into the wind.
A personal anecdote:
When I was working as a deputy in Texas, I was called to a store to handle a couple (one man and one woman) who may or may not have committed theft. The loss prevention officer (LP) at this particular location was very gung-ho about catching thieves and accused this couple of theft without having necessary proof. I asked the couple to talk to me for a moment to clear up the situation and they “ran.”
I place “ran” in quotes because I was able to keep up with the woman at a brisk walk and was able to reach their truck at the same time as she was trying to close the door.
I held the door open and in a mild, calm tone told the woman to please step out of the vehicle so that we could clear up the situation. The couple were both in a frantic emotional state, and the man kept yelling at the woman to shut the door so they could take off. I kept calmly telling the woman to please step out of the vehicle and that if they wanted to leave, they’d have to be willing to drag my body along the road because I was not letting go of that truck.
The only time I raised my voice, was to yell at the loss prevention officer who had taken it upon himself to start knocking on the driver side window where the man was sitting. Ironically, it was most likely my yelling at the LP that convinced the couple to finally calm down.
They both stepped out of the vehicle, admitted they had thought about stealing, but ended up deciding not to, which the LP then confirmed, and they were free to go. The man told me he had dealt with jerk cops in the past, which is why they responded the way they did and he promised they would be more calm if they ever had to deal with police again.
Another officer in my position would have been more than justified in grabbing the woman out of the truck and “guiding” her to ground where she would be placed in cuffs, while the man was then dealt with in the same way.
Because of my prior experience in the Army, along with the two deployments to Afghanistan, I had developed the ability to remain calm in tense situations, even if it came at greater personal risk to myself, in order to ensure that suspects were allowed basic human dignity.
Not enough men who engage in political or cultural discourse have first developed a sense of service. Many of them have political science or theology degrees and they can articulate many points well on an intellectual level but not, unfortunately, an emotional level.
Media and public “influencers” require a large number of supporters to be able to sustain a livelihood off of their commentary. This means appealing to those who already agree with you, without necessarily converting the opposing side.
They say things that are true, but in a way so crass that even a reasonable person who disagrees with them would most likely shut them out without giving the truth a chance because of the arrogance on display by the messenger.
In the end, what “man” consists of is defense of the truth by promoting the truth in a way that protects the good and cares enough for the human dignity of those consumed by evil, to convince them of their folly, rather than mock them.
It requires courage, strength, fortitude, and generosity to be a man.
